Installation/Setup Procedures
Mechanical Installation Electrical Installation
For 1/2" models, use a 12A272 mounting clamp, or its equivalent, to securely mount the sensor. All other models have either #10 or 1/4" clearance holes, for mounting to bulkheads or brackets.

Units should be mounted as far from metal as possible, and adjusted after they are mounted.

As a general rule, sensors mounted side-by-side should be spaced a minimum of half the sensor diameter away from each other, and sensors mounted face-to-face should be spaced three times the sensor diameter away from each other.

Your sensor's electrical connections must agree with those shown in the corresponding wiring diagram above.
Setup Procedure
Apply power.

With no target present, turn the adjustment potentiometer CW until an alarm condition exists
( Normally Open - LED is lit;  Normally Closed - LED is off ).

Then, turn the pot CCW until the alarm just resets. This is the point of maximum possible sensitivity;
this is not the recommended operating point, however, as temperature fluctuations may cause false alarms or detection failures.

For the optimum setting, continue to turn the pot CCW at least 1/4 turn.


Note:Use the parts you intend to monitor and test for reliable detection (at the center of the ring, where sensitivity is the least).
